Retail and FMCG

Growing revenue, lower operating costs.

When you can finally see what happens between the shelves

In an average retail store, management knows exactly how many customers enter each day and how much revenue is generated. What typically remains invisible, however, is the connection between the two. It is unclear which paths customers take, where they stop, at which points they lose interest, or which areas they avoid entirely.

Using footage from existing cameras, the system continuously tracks individual customer movement throughout the entire store, even as they pass through multiple camera views. As a result, you gain not only entry counts, but complete customer journeys that clearly show how much real attention a given product category or promotion receives.

A typical use case is when a retail chain notices that a promotional zone near the entrance generates high traffic, yet the vast majority of customers move on within a few meters without engaging with the displayed products. Based on heatmaps and path analysis, changes to the layout can measurably increase the number of stops and improve conversion. The system also clearly distinguishes staff movement from customer movement, ensuring that internal traffic does not distort the analysis.

The result is not just general statistics, but concrete decision support: which shelf performs, which does not, and why.
